Catteries

Our Test Kits are the only proven method for measuring Fel d1 allergen in kittens. We have tested other breeds and only found lower allergen in Siberians, so we market test test kits primarily to Siberian breeders.

Prices, warranties and refunds vary widely between catteries. When selecting a cattery, review their deposits and refund policies  We recommend purchasing tested kittens only if the cattery offers a minimum 30 days return (full refund less $500 is reasonable). Your deposit should be fully refundable if you react at the cattery at the time you pick up your kitty.

Siberian catteries listed below offer Fel d1 testing of kittens, have tested kittens within the prior year, and meet our standards. These are the only catteries currently licensed to use our copyrighted allergen charts and sell tested kittens.

These Catteries have tested in the past year and are licensed to use our materials.

_____________________________________________

Many catteries use our charts and/or claim that they test their kittens. If they are not included in the above list, they don’t have permission to publish our information. Unfortunately, too often they not only publish it illegally, but give incorrect information. Don’t assume that the information is correct simply because they “quote” or refer to KittenTesting.com or Tom Lundberg. Those references can be wildly inaccurate.

We spent years finding the perfect (proprietary) salivant. No other salivant has been proven to give reliable results. Read through this website or Lundberg Siberians’ website for more information.

Martin Siberians / Blue Eyes Siberians in Canada: We recently became aware of “tested” kittens who had not been processed through Kitten Testing. We have seen lab results, and many are in our red-flag range — low enough to indicate possible procedure errors and/or an unreliable salivant. Please note that no recent kittens from Martin / Blue Eyes were processed through or approved by Kitten Testing, and we will not be associated with those catteries in the future. Also see our recommendations on this page regarding return policies.

Pet Scams: Please be careful

Scams regarding pets are common, and we hear from folks who have lost thousands of dollars. Eastern European scammers use fake websites, or mimic real websites to steal kitten deposits and payments. Most scam sites do not provide a business address. Before working with a cattery, verify the physical address matches the address on file with the State Business Registry. If you have questions, your bank is a great resource.

Safe practices include:
1) Verify a business address is listed on the website.
2) Look up the company in the Corporate Registry for that State.
3) Ask your bank to verify the business registration.
4) Do not ever send funds to phone numbers.
5) Use safe reversible transaction such as PayPal business.
6) Ask your bank to help with a safe payment method
